Twelve members headed south from Aberdeen
on a chilly Sunday morning. Despite making good time on the A90
south, the roads up Glen Prosen thwarted us. The East road was
closed (unknown reason) and the bus became stuck on a snowdrift
on the West Road. Having extricated the bus we decided not to
push on and reversed our route to Glen Clova instead. From there
(Wheen) the Presidents Party of 7 ascended Ben Tirran to The
Goat before traversing NW on the plateau to Green Hill and
finally descending by Loch Brandy to the Clova Hotel. Time was
taken to practice step cutting, cramponing and even some Tai
chi on the trig point.
Those not in the PP went for various
shorter walks around the Glen.
A welcome drink was enjoyed by all at the
hotel before making our way back to Aberdeen.
Some of my pictures of the day.
Everyone enjoyed a great day despite not
achieving the planned Munro.
